Bio
Nina Mbah is a Nigerian Impact Media Producer and social entrepreneur working at the intersection of storytelling, behavioural change, and environmental sustainability. Her work focuses on designing narrative-led campaigns and creative ecosystems that move people from awareness to action on climate and environmental challenges across Africa.
As Co-founder and Impact Producer of African Climate Stories, Nina leads the organisation’s strategic vision, impact design, and program development-ensuring that storytelling efforts are grounded in systems thinking, community realities, and measurable outcomes. She oversees the conception of flagship initiatives such as the African Climate Stories Fellowship, Festival, and the Flip Campaign, which together form a scalable model for culture-driven climate action.
Nina’s interest in impact storytelling has been shaped by her exposure to the everyday consequences of environmental neglect in urban African contexts, deepening her commitment to closing the gap between people’s lived experiences and climate narratives. This perspective informs her approach to building storytelling interventions that are relatable, participatory, and action-oriented.
Under her co-leadership, African Climate Stories has grown into a pan-African ecosystem engaging storytellers and changemakers across more than 16 countries, with over 50 local partnerships. Through its programs and campaigns, the organisation has directly engaged thousands of young people, inspired hundreds of climate solution ideas, and reached communities across multiple African regions with narrative-driven sustainability messaging. Its work has received support from organisations including the Urban Movement Innovation Fund, Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, the Embassy of France in Nigeria, Carbon Trust, ZE-Gen and the IKEA Foundation.
Nina has received multiple global recognitions, including selection as a 2025 World Bank-Max Thabiso Edkins Climate Ambassador, serving as a jury member for the 2025 Sehsüchte Film Festival in Potsdam-Germany, and being named one of 18 Women Championing Sustainable Solutions in Africa by WeForGood International. She is a Global Talent at the UNLEASH SDGs Innovation Lab, where she co-designed 'Track-Trash', a real-time waste monitoring solution addressing flooding in Jodhpur, India. She also facilitates sustainability-in-filmmaking training and serves as a guest lecturer for the International Screen Institute’s Sustainability Management Programme in Vienna, Austria.
Nina holds a Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying and postgraduate diplomas in Human Capital Development and in Entrepreneurship, Technology & Design. She brings a combination of creative vision, strategic thinking, and community insight to building climate action narratives that scale.
