Bio
Multilingual, I also speak in images. I am a Visual Storyteller focusing on Film Editing and connecting Film with Human Rights specifically youth in order to make an impact.
I hold a BA in Performing Arts and Film Production from USJ-IESAV in Beirut where I did my short movie “A Fairy Tail” about incest and a MA in Film Studies from NUI, Galway in Ireland where I researched and wrote my thesis including a video essay about how children use fiction to deal with war and trauma.
My work mainly focuses on migration, identity, youth and human rights and often parallels fiction and reality. I am primarily a Film Editor, but I love to write and dabbled in other aspects of filmmaking. I also love working with youth and facilitate workshops. I have taken part in the 2nd edition of Talents Beirut, part of the Berlinale Festival. And finally, I often travel for work, studies and personal quests.
My goal is to apply storytelling, empathy and flow in my work; use Film Editing as a tool to make a change. In my free time, I practice Capoeira, a Brazilian art form, mix of dance and martial arts.
