Bio

Albie Swingler is a documentary filmmaker and impact producer based in London, UK. For the past five years, he has been working in documentaries for broadcast TV, independent feature film, digital media and podcasts, pitching, developing and producing content for a range of platforms and channels: BBC, Channel 4, BFI Doc Society, Channel 4, Netflix, A24, Prime Video and Apple TV.

His work has taken him across Europe, the US, Mexico, and Panama, producing access-led documentaries and securing interviews with a diverse range of subjects - from politicians and prisoners to the world’s first all-trans female football team. Albie’s producing experience isn’t just limited to the big screen - he has produced shoots for i-D, the V&A and the hit online series A View From A Bridge, and co-written for Youtube shows such as Chicken Shop Date.

In 2024, Albie set up ooto impact agency - specialising in impact strategy for documentary, investigations and community media. They are currently working across various BFI Doc Society funded independent feature films, working closely with Directors to achieve social impact goals. Recent credits include Kate Stonehill’s documentary Phantom Parrot about digital war-on-terror laws and Oscar-award winning director Asif Kapadia on his latest feature 2073 about the dangers of Big Tech, climate change and authoritarianism.
